About Us

We’re beer fanatics and home brewers. We live in the countryside near Durham, North Carolina, and spend our Sundays brewing on the front porch and our evenings prowling the state in search of rare taps and casks.

We have an odd history. We fell hard for craft beer just as our lives were crashing into each other for the second time. We used to know each other back in the early ‘90s. We were high school sweethearts, in fact, and we did what high school sweethearts usually do. We broke up for stupid reasons. Fifteen years later, we nervously shared a bomber of Mothership Wit after a chance meeting in a restaurant. So maybe this is all an extended case of nerves. Regardless, many, many bombers and a home brewing kit later, we knew there was no turning back.

We’ll offer regular dispatches from our Sunday brew days, log the trials of equipment upgrades, comment on the state of craft beer (especially in North Carolina) and take a sick-making number of photos of us geeking out in breweries.

Let’s mash in.
